Rodriguez to Man Utd

Real Madrid superstar moving to Old Trafford in a €80m move to end goal scoring problems, not Ronaldo or Benzema

Manchester United are “very interested” in signing Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, a Spanish journalist has revealed. Speaking on the popular late-night Spanish television show El Chiringuito, Jose Luis Sanchez suggested that the Red Devils were “very interested” in making a move for Real’s Colombian superstar James Rodriguez.

The 24-year-old former AS Monaco star has found game time hard to come by this term as Real manager Rafa Benitez has been looking elsewhere for midfield talent. With half the season behind us, James has made just 10 appearances in all competitions, scoring three and assisting six goals. To put that into contrast, the player made a total of 46 appearances last campaign, scoring 17 times.

Manchester United have identified Rodriguez as the man who can bring them back on track. Louis Van Gaal’s men are in desperate need of some goals and the Los Blancos star has the potential to not only score, but also create. Any move for Rodriguez though would come at a cost as United would have to stump up a figure close to the 80m Euros that Real paid for the player two years ago.

Rodriguez himself though should be willing to make a move as he is currently being deprived of game time, but all that would change however if Real boss Rafa Benitez were to lose his job.

The former Inter Milan and Liverpool manager is under massive pressure after seeing his side fall off the pace in La Liga. Real fans are already calling for his head and speculation about his sacking have grown in the past few days after former Real boss Jose Mourinho became available once again.

The Red Devils won’t find it easy to seal a deal for the player as any potential United move for James Rodriguez could be put off if Benitez did get the sack so the best we can do now is wait and watch exactly how this story unfolds.
