Chelsea To ANNOUNCE Falcao Signing By Tomorrow

Premier League Champions, Chelsea have ‘agreed to sign Radamel Falcao’ from AS Monaco, according to metro. Falcao, who is presently on international duty with Colombia at the Copa America tournament in Chile, will join The Blues and will earn £265,000-a week wages.

Earlier this month, Blues’ boss, Mourinho dropped a hint about the move when he said he can transform Falcao into the real Falcao he was before, giving people an impression that he was clearly undervalued and mismanaged by Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal, last term when he played under him on loan.

The reported move to Chelsea is also said to be a loan one, but Metro wrote “The Blues have reached an agreement to bring the Monaco striker to Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan”. The deal is reportedly to be announced within days. Falcao, who had a bad season for Man United last term is also keen on the move because of his decision to remain in the English Premier League and prove he is not yet finished.

The former Porto and Atletico Madrid man had successful seasons at both clubs before earning a big-money move to Monaco is the French League. He won the UEFA Europa League with Atletico in 2012 and scored a hat-trick against his reported new club,  Chelsea, in the 2012 UEFA Super Cup, thereby winning the Man Of The Match award for his performance. He also won the Copa Del Rey title in the 2012-2013 season. His move to Monaco was, therefore, marred by a recurring knee injury, which reduced him to only 22 appearances and 13 goals in two seasons.

In a twist to this transfer, some Chelsea fans have been urging the club not to sign the Colombian striker, as a result of poor performances for the Jose Pekerman’s tutored-side at the ongoing Copa America. “Falcao has been a real problem for them in the tournament and in three matches has registered only one shot on target, continuing the poor performances that brought him only four goals for Manchester United last season”(The Independent).

Despite the pleas, the move is still likely to go through, and Falcao will be given the opportunity to redeem himself at Chelsea.
