Arsenal On The VERGE Of Signing 5ft 10in DM, Man United Could Sign Schniederlin

After an earlier report in the media, stating that Marseille Midfielder, Florian Thauvin has agreed to move to New Castle in a deal that is believed to be in the region of £14 million, the player is said to have rejected the transfer, and instead is said to be holding out for a move to either of Arsenal or Tottenham.

The initial offer made by New Castle, according to the Daily Star, was £10.75 million, following which the club upped their bid to £14 million. If the report claiming that the France Under-21 player is holding out for either of the two London clubs, then we have certainly not heard the last on this matter.

While players have a reputation for changing their minds on a particular club after after a deal has been reached between clubs, it remains to be seen if a club like Arsenal have a place for Thauvin; perhaps, Tottenham.

No news of an Arsenal interest in the player was reported; at least we have not heard of any such name being linked with the Gunners this window; but of course, with Wenger, you never know what the Frenchman has off his sleeves. The club is currently being linked with a move for Southampton’s Morgan Schniederlin and Arturo Vidal of Serie A club Juventus. If the report of Thauvin coming to Arsenal is true, then we can safely assume United will sign Morgan Schniederlin has reports in the last few days has indicated.

A lot of French players would naturally want to move to a club like Arsenal, considering Arsene Wenger’s pedigree and popularity both in home country France and England, where he has been a manager for the past 19 years.
