Arsenal News Round Up – Fekir, Walcott, Jenkinson, Manolas, Vargas & Others

The euphoria that greeted the signing of Chelsea’s Petr Cech seems to have gradually faded as Gunners are now eagerly anticipating more signings in a couple of areas of the team. Certainly the team could do with a couple of more signings, especially in the midfield and in the attack. Here are some of the latest reports and stories that have to do with players being linked with the club in the last few hours.

According to the Express, Bayern Munich have turned down a chance to sign Arsenal attacker, Theo Walcott as a backup for injured Arjen Robben or Franck Ribery. This is a shocking report, considering the various reports in the media, claiming that Walcott has signed a new four-year deal at the Emirates.

Arsenal target and Lyon midfielder, Nabir Fekir, has ended all speculations linking him with a move to the Emirates this summer, by putting pen to paper on a new deal, according to the Lyon official Twitter account.

Carl Jenkinson, according to the Guardian, is set to sign a long-term contract this summer, before going out on a season-long loan to West Ham United. The 23-year old, who spent the whole of last season on loan with the Irons, is a favourite of new Hammers’ manager, Slaven Bilic.

According to Gazetta dello Sport, Arsenal have made enquiries about the availability of Kostas Manolas of Roma over a possible move to the Emirates this summer. The centre-back only joined Roma last summer, but is now attracting interest from the Emirates due to his contribution to his team last season.

Arsenal are also reportedly showing interest in Chile striker, Eduardo Vargas, after the player impressed Wenger during the recently concluded Copa America.
