Striker Set To Sign For Arsenal, Three Years Deal, To Earn £130,000-A-Week

Arsenal’s transfer business seems to have gone dull and rather non-existent after the signing of Petr Cech.

Things are now set to change with reports have emerged that Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has been offered a new three-year deal to remain at Arsenal, making him one of the club’s highest earners.

Giroud, who joined the Gunners from Montpellier in 2012 for a fee of around £9.6million, has since become a regular in Arsene Wenger’s team.

As per Italian media outlet, Tuttomercatoweb, the France international striker – Arsenal’s top scorer last in the Premier League term – has been rewarded with a new three-year contract worth £130,000 a week (via Metro).

The news comes amid rumours of Arsenal’s interest in signing compatriot Karim Benzema for Real Madrid. Benzema has always kept Giroud on the France bench, and the scenario will likely occur as the Los Blancos striker will be expected to spearhead the attack of the Gunners if he makes the move to the Emirates stadium.

Wenger knows he needs to recruit a more potent striker, as he privately does not trust Giroud to lead Arsenal to Premier League glory next term.

Giroud, 28, has bagged 41 goals in 97 appearances for the Gunners since joining. He has also won the FA Cup on two occasions for Arsenal. Meanwhile, the Gunners are linked to Joao Moutinho and according to reports, the deal could be done soon.

Arsenal started their pre-season tour last week and won the Barclays Asia Trophy with a 3-1 resounding victory against Everton.
