BID ACCEPTED – Arsenal To COMPLETE Shocking Transfer Of £800,000-A-Week Star

AS Roma have come to an agreement with Arsenal to let goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny join the Serie A club on loan with a view to buy.

This is as per Guardian, who went ahead to reveal the overarching aspects of the deals, saying the two clubs have been in negotiations for some days before they finally agreed terms on a 12-month deal in which Roma will pay around €1million to have the Polish goalie in their squad for the 2015-16 campaign.

Talks between Arsenal and Roma would have stalled as there was an issue as to whether Arsenal should continue paying a certain percentage of the player’s wages but in the end, the two clubs agreed that the Rome-based club would be paying 100% of the Poland international wages.

The above broadsheet also revealed that Roma have the option of signing Szczesny for €5million at the end of his loan. The Telegraph had claimed yesterday that Szczesny was closing in on a move to Roma, but they failed to say whether a deal has been finalised.

The 25-year old shot-stopper has been at Arsenal since 2006, having come through the Gunners’ youth ranks. The recent arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea may however lead to reduced minutes at the Emirates for Szczesny.

Cech is expected to be the first-choice between the sticks next term, with David Ospina his back-up, and Szczesny a third-choice. Therefore, the Poland ace has made a good decision to go out on loan.

Although the move may surprise many Arsenal fans who still rate him highly, Szczesny will benefit greatly from the transfer.

Unlike Cech, Roma’s first-choice goalie can be displaced by Szczesny, and as such, he will be able to make an impressive impact in the Serie A. An impact that would make Wenger take him back. However way it pans out, the Roma loan makes sense for him than sitting on an Arsenal bench as a third-choice goalie.

At 25, he still has age on his side and can go on to fulfill his full potential at another top club if he succeeds in his Roma career.

As per Squawka, Szczesny had a 95% claim success rate in the 2014-15 Premier League season, despite a decline in form which led Arsene Wenger to replace him with David Ospina in the second half of the season.
