GREAT NEWS – Striker Set Sign For Arsenal, Three Years Deal, Will Earn £130,000-A-Week

Latest news coming from the Arsenal camp has it that striker, Olivier Giroud has agreed terms on a new three year deal with the club and will see him increase his wage from about £80,000 to £130,000 per week according to the Daily Star.

If this report turns out to be true, the Frenchman will become one of the highest earners at the club thus making some fans to express their discontent at his take home pay. They are of the belief that he is not deserving of such kind of money.

In my personal opinion, Giroud is a capable striker despite the fact that he cannot be called world class he has contributed 41 goals in 97 games which is a decent contribution and considering that other strikers in the Premier League are on massive wages, I think he fully deserves it. Sergio Aguero receives above £200,000, Falcao is on a massive £285,000, Hazard on £200, Yaya Toure on over £200, 000 and Giroud receiving just £130,000 shouldn’t cause any ripple. Giroud has always handled himself professionally and has always handled himself professionally and has always tried to keep the controversies as far away as possible.

Arsene Wenger has always been known to be a prudent man and if he feels that Olivier Giroud deserves such a pay cheque, people should not question him. His track record speaks for him and he has always been vocal about his belief that players on astronomical wages (Falcao earning £285,000) do more harm to football as they are perceived to be motivated by money and not passion for the game.
