Chelsea Tables MEGA Bid For £34m Rated 6ft 2″ POWERFUL Man United Target

According to reports from the DailyMail, Chelsea returned with a second bid for Everton defender John Stones which was rejected too. This second bid is reported to be about £25 million.

“Everton have rejected Chelsea’s latest £25 million bid for Stones.

The England defender was informed of the offer being turned down on Tuesday prior to playing in Everton’s friendly 2-0 win over Dundee. Stones remained relaxed about the situation although it is understood he is interested in the move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will now consider whether to make another bid”.

Jose Mourinho went public to confirm that the first bid was made and subsequently rejected, this singular act irked Everton boss as he felt the Portuguese was trying to turn his players head by publicly expressing his interest in him. With the Mail asserting that Stones is interested in the move, that would confirm Roberto Martinez’s worst fears, and the England international has had his head turned.

It has been speculated in the media that Everton are holding up for a bid upwards of £34 million and it remains to be seen if Chelsea would return with a third bid for Stones who has been touted as the successor to captain John Terry.

In an FFP era, it would not be financially sensible to invest a massive £34 million on just transfer fee excluding wages on a 21-year old defender that cost just £3 million two years ago when Everton signed him from Barnsley in 2013. Chelsea would be better served looking at other alternatives who have more experience and will cost far less than Stones. With the sanctions imposed on Manchester City and PSG for failing to comply with FFP regulations in the UEFA Champions League last season still fresh in the memory, the London based club should look to make their finances very stable before investing massively on any player as they look to increase the capacity of their home ground.
