Chelsea Table SURPRISING £26m For Champions League Winner, Mourinho Likes Him

Premier league champions have tabled a £26 million bid for Napoli winger Jose Callejon after Napoli rejected Chelsea’s first bid. The Blues made an initial bid worth 15.5 million pounds which was rejected by Napoli. Chelsea have responded with an improved offer for the 28 year old in order to wrap up the deal as quickly as possible. Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to be re-united with his former player Callejon who he coached when he was at Madrid.

The Portuguese has always been a big admirer of Callejon which made him hand the 28 year old first team opportunities while he was at Madrid. Mourinho will be looking to utilise Callejon’s talents at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea start their defence campaign next week.

If Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho thought his squad needed no new additions and were ready to defend their title with this present squad, yesterday’s match will definitely give Jose Mourinho one or two things to deeply consider before season begins. Chelsea community shield match against Arsenal yesterday showed a toothless attacking Blues team rather than the lethal Blues that won the Premier league last year.

Even though Chelsea were without Spanish forward Diego Costa yesterday, the London team struggled to carve out chances for themselves yesterday. The few chances that eventually fell Chelsea’s way were wasted dreadfully. Yesterday’s defeat will definitely take Jose Mourinho back to the drawing board. The Portuguese manager will have to start considering back-up alternatives to the likes of Hazard, Fabregas , Oscar and Remy who largely underperformed yesterday.

With Chelsea expected to feature in  4 competitions this season Hazard and co will most likely still have bad days over the course of the season which is why Chelsea must sign a viable option such as Jose Callejon to the team. The versatile goal-scoring attacker has been in terrific form for Napoli netting 32 goals since his arrival. The 28 year old is renowned for his play-making abilities and ability to create goals as well as score goals. Jose Callejon will be an excellent addition to Chelsea and will be a key member of the squad as they look to defend their title next season.
