Arsenal Gets Massive Injury Boost Ahead Of Crystal Palace Clash

As per The Evening Standard, Arsenal have been handed a huge boost on the injury front with news that striker Danny Welbeck is set to make a return to first team activities this month.

The former Manchester United player who completed a transfer deadline day move to the Emirates last summer missed the later part of last season with a knee injury and has even gone on to miss the Gunners pre-season preparations.

The 24-year old Ghanaian born English international featured 25 times for the Gunners last season and even led the line in the absence of Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott. After an impressive start to his Arsenal career which climaxed with a hat-trick against Turkish giants Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League, he unfortunately picked up an injury at the turn of the year which resulted in his absence for the first four league matches of the year. This injury affected his form and he was never able to replicate his very impressive early season form that made him a delight to watch.

With the Evening Standard reporting that the 24-year old is progressing well and is even set to make a return this month, it would prove to be a boost to Arsene Wenger as he looks to bolster his attack after the clubs 2-0 opening day defeat at home to a Slaven Bilic managed West Ham United.

This news is a boost as Arsenal are currently struggling upfront with Alexis Sanchez battling with fitness issues after leading his country to success at the recently concluded COPA America and Olivier Giroud currently sidelined leaving only Theo Walcott as the only fit striker.
