DONE – Europa League WINNER Signs For Chelsea, Five Years Deal Done – Not Baba

Chelsea have announced that Netherlands youth international Nathan Ake has penned a new five-year deal at Stamford Bridge, and will continue his development at Watford after sealing a season-long loan transfer to the Premier League new boys.

Ake has now joined the Chelsea loan army this season in a bid to further build himself as a top player. The Dutchman was a subject of a loan interest from Serie A contenders Genoa few days ago but the Hornets have emerged victorious in the race to land the highly-rated Dutchman.

The 20-year old defensive midfielder, who can also play as a defender, spent a month at Championship outfit Reading last season, making five starts for Steve Clarke’s side. The manager has been utilising his relationship with Chelsea to a good extent as he has reportedly signed another Chelsea young player Nathaniel Chalobah this summer.

Ake is now set for a spell at a Premier League club and the Netherlands youth becomes the club’s first player to arrive on loan, with Alessandro Diamanti reportedly set to follow suit.

The Blues have apparently signed left-back Baba Rahman from Augsburg after the Bundesliga club announced the sale of the 21-year old. The Ghanaian international successfully underwent a medical on Friday and missed Augsburg’s match against Hertha Berlin yesterday.

Sky Sports had reported that the Ghanaian will be moving to Stamford Bridge for a fee in excess of £20m, and will be joining the west London club as Filipe Luis replacement, after the 30-year old Brazilian rejoined Atletico Madrid last month.

Baba will now be hoping he does not suffer the same fate as Luis. Hence, he will be aiming to dislodge the impressive Cesar Azpilicueta from the left back spot in the Chelsea team.
