Revealed – Arsenal Failed With £20m Bid For Striker On Transfer Deadline Day, January Move On The Card

Arsenal made a late bid to price in-form Leicester City’s Algerian attacker Riyad Mahrez late on in the transfer window according to Spanish media outlet, Mundo Deportivo.

The fleet footed Algerian trickster has made a very productive start to the new Premier League season finding the net on four occasions in four matches thus making him joint top scorer in the early part of this season. The in-form player has already matched his goal output last season where he netted four times in thirty Premier League matches for The Foxes.

His impressive start to the season has seen him firmly rooted in the list of most sought after forwards. His form has clearly caught the attentions of Arsenal’s veteran boss, Arsene Wenger who reportedly tried but ultimately failed to land him in the latter stages of the transfer window according to Mundo Deportivo. Despite Wenger’s optimism on a deal happening, the club failed in their attempt leaving goal keeper Petr Cech as the clubs only major signing.

Mahrez who has started the season in impressive goalscoring form, he has also made eight key passes this term. His form under new boss, Claudio Ranieri has marked him as one of the early stars of the new campaign.
