Liverpool Transfer News – £80,000-A-Week Star To Complete Liverpool Transfer

According to reports making headlines, Paris Saint Germain defender David Luiz has urged fellow countryman Phillipe Coutinho to leave Liverpool and join European champions Barcelona.

Coutinho, 23, has risen to become one of the Premier League’s best players, and the Brazilian’s stellar performances have now sparked interest from Barcelona who could make a move for him in January.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague [@GuillemBalague]: “On Coutinho: FCB have not contacted LFC (not yet anyway) but the campaign to take him to FCB from his circle (David Luiz, Neymar) continues.”

He continued: “On Coutinho: “very good friends with Neymar (who wants him at FCB) and shares agent with David Luiz. They both said FCB ideal destination for him.”

The sacking of Brendan Rodgers after Sunday’s draw with Everton has led to speculation that some of Liverpool’s stars could be heading for the exit out of Anfield, with the Catalan giants reportedly keen on Coutinho.

The attacking midfielder’s current contract at Liverpool ends in 2020, but the lack of Champions League football could prompt the Selecao star to move on, with the Reds missing out this term after finishing sixth in the league last term.

Currently on international duty for Brazil alongside Luiz ahead of their matches against Chile and Venezuela, Coutinho could be influenced more into leaving Liverpool and make a switch to Barca in order to aid his development as a player.

Liverpool sit in 10th position in the league, sixth points behind leaders Manchester City and reports have it that the club are close to announcing former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp as their next boss.
