Arsenal to Sign New Duo

Arsenal to beat Liverpool in the transfer race for duo; delegation fly out to complete deal

Arsenal have been given huge encouragement in their pursuit of PSG winger Lucas Moura. Premier League clubs Arsenal and Liverpool are both reportedly chasing the Brazilian star, who has fallen out of favour at his current club and is looking for a way out. In encouraging news to the Gunners, ITASportPress reports the 23-year-old would prefer a move to the North London club over other interested clubs.

Moura is reportedly an admirer of manager Arsene Wenger and would love to have an opportunity to work with the Frenchman. Another transfer pursuit where Arsenal seem to be edging Liverpool is of Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka. The Gunners are the long time admirers of the 23-year old, and now Metro reports that they are edging closer to completing the deal for the player.

The Reds are also interested in the player, but according to the report, the Swiss international prefers a move to London. Arsene Wenger has also recently sent scouts to watch over the talented midfielder. In an encouraging development to the interested clubs, Xhaka recently confirmed that he would be interested in a move in the future. He said: “I think no one has any idea what the long-term future. It is also true for me…I do not know what will happen in the future.”

Italian source CalcioMercato24 reports that an Arsenal delegation has flown out to Brazil to complete the deal for Palmeiras starlet Gabriel Jesus. According to the report, the club officials will hold talks with the player’s agent and are confident of negotiating a deal with the club and player’s representatives.

The young striker attracted attention when he scored 37 goals in 22 appearances for the club’s youth team last season. He has carried on his form for the senior squad this season and has scored five goals in 17 appearances.
