The reason for Jose Mourinho’s sacking has been revealed! Technical director explained secrets behind the scene

Chelsea, yesterday, parted ways with Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese failed to turnaround the club’s disastrous run in Premier League this season. The Blues currently sit just one point above the relegation zone, having suffered nine defeats already this season. This is in sharp contrast to the last season, where Mourinho’s team suffered only three defeats during the course of the entire season.

There have been many speculations regarding the reason behind Mourinho’s sacking and now club’s technical director Michael Emanelo has shed the light on actual reasons behind the sacking.

Emanelo reveals that there was ‘palpable discord’ between the manager and the players in the dressing room and that eventually led to the departure of Mourinho. He also said that Chelsea is a club in trouble at the moment. “What happened was not a pre-meditated decision, it was a decision taken to protect the club,” Emenalo told Chelsea TV.

“While there is huge sentiment for the individual who has done so much for the club, the fact of the matter remains that Chelsea is a club in trouble. The results are not good and there obviously seems to be a palpable discord between manager and players. We felt it was time to act. The owner is forced to make what is a very tough decision for the good of the club.”
“Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world and is one point above the relegation places in the Premier League; that is not good enough. Anybody who loves the club or has any kind of affiliation to the club can understand that this club is in trouble and that something had to be done.”

Emenalo also confirmed that the club is already in the process of finding Mourinho’s successor. He added: “You are not a big club if you don’t have contingency plans in place for things like this,” he said. “We are a big club and we have quality coaches embedded within the club and I think we will be OK for Saturday.

“We will have competent people help with the preparation for Saturday and the club is working vigorously to take care of the situation involving the managerial appointment as soon as possible.”
