Man Utd vs Chelsea: Player Ratings – Fantastic Courtois, Terrible Oscar and Poor Hazard

Chelsea played out a goalless draw with Man Utd at Old Trafford yesterday. This was a second draw in the row for the Blues whereas the Red Devils put an end to their run of consecutive defeats. Man Utd dominated possession and they had more number of chances, but David de Gea made a number of superb saves to keep United in the game.

Let’s see how the Chelsea players fared in the game:

Thibaut Courtois: 8

He made a couple of world class saves in the game: first to deny Wayne Rooney in the first half and second one to block Ander Herrera from close range in the second half.

Branislav Ivanovic: 5

He has gotten over his dreadful start to the season, but he struggled against Anthony Martial during the course of the game.

Kurt Zouma: 7

He partnered John Terry well in defence and produced one superb tackle in the second half.

John Terry: 7

He brought much-needed assurance to the London’s club defence and stood firm against the United attacking threat.

Cesar Azpilicueta: 7

He made many forward runs in the game and also forced David De Gea into making a crucial save.

He kept his place in the squad after an impressive second half performance in the 2-2 draw with Watford and shielded his back four effectively.

He was solid in front of the defence, but spurned a glorious opportunity to score after he found himself in a one-on-one situation with De Gea.

Willian: 6

He was not his usual self in the game and was not quite capable. His game was cut short due to an injury in the second half.

Oscar: 5

He tried, but failed to influence the game.

Pedro: 6

His pace caused problems for Man Utd on occasions. He missed a glorious opportunity in the counter attack during the first half

Eden Hazard: 6

He started the game upfront, in place of suspended Diego Costa. He found himself isolated upfront for the majority of the match. He forced a save from David De Gea in the second half.
