6 ft 4 in Powerful Defender All Set to Arrive Today, Club Will Pay €400,000 Loan Fee

Bundesliga club Werder Bremen have confirmed that they are currently in negotiations with Chelsea over a possible loan move for defender Papy Djilobodji.

Djilobodji signed for the Blues from Ligue 1 club Nantes on the last day of the transfer.

Former manager Jose Mourinho had earlier revealed that the player was signed without his consultation. He said: “It was not my choice. It was the choice of someone I trust completely, which is the same. I don’t know every player.

“My job doesn’t allow me to travel and spend hours watching players. In some moments of the market, under certain circumstances, there are moments when you have to trust or not the people you work with.”

The Senegalese international failed to make a league appearance for the Blues and only appeared made a one-minute appearance in a League Cup game.

Bremen’s sporting director Thomas Eichin confirmed the talks to German newspaper Kreiszeitung Syke: “We are in negotiations.”
