Almost Done – Chelsea Set To Complete Transfer Of £30m Rated £85,000-A-Week Star

Chelsea seem to be the busiest of the top four teams in the EPL this transfer as various reports of the club’s interest in some players continue to appear in various media outlets and online. According to the Daily Star, Chelsea and Juventus are currently engaged in negotiations over the possible transfer of Oscar, and the fee being reported is £30 million.

Oscar, who made 28 appearances in the league last season, is currently recovering from a back injury, which has kept him out of his country’s squad to the Copa America competition in Chile.

While nothing suggests that the Brazilian international is surplus to requirement in Chelsea, I won’t put it past Mourinho to try and negotiate the sale of Oscar in order to raise some transfer fund for another player. Recall that the manager shocked the world almost two seasons ago when he sold Juan Mata to United, despite the player’s fine form at the time.

Oscar is one of the most outstanding players in the current Chelsea squad, and placing him on transfer at this time must mean that Mourinho has some tricks off his sleeves. At £18 million, the young Brazilian is probably a bargain; especially when you consider how much quality he brings to his team.

The midfielder signed for the Stanford Bridge side in 2012 for a fee in the region of £19 million.

The transfer window is still a long way from coming to a close, and I guess we have to wait to see how this turns out.
