Reports emanating from Europe via German Tabloid, Bild, state that English Premier League side, Arsenal FC, have recently indicated strong interest in signing Augsburg of Germany defender, Baba Rahman. The reports also state that fellow English sides, Chelsea FC and moneybags Manchester City have also recently indicated interest in the player’s services; but also that Arsenal look to be in pole position to capture his signature, with talks between both clubs over his transfer set to kick off soonest.
Other reports lending credence to this development also confirm that the player’s agent, Sascha Empacher flew into England over the weekend to speak with representatives of Arsenal, over the terms and conditions prerequisite for a transfer of the player.
It is reported that before a deal would be struck between the club and other parties, a transfer fee in the region of €25 million would have to be tabled, with Augsburg spokes person Klaus Hofmann clearly stating that the club is grossly unwilling to listen to offers below or around €20 million for the player.
The 20 year old defender is highly-rated in Germany as one of the best full-backs of his age grade, and would definitely be a good buy for any club who eventually acquire his services.
