Arsenal possible summer signings: on Mkhitaryan, Granit Xhaka and Raphael Guerreiro

Arsenal are tracking Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to a report in the Guardian. The report claims that the North London club have sent scouts to watch over the Armenian international and have also monitored him through video clips.

The 27-year old will have one year left on his current contract with Dortmund in summer, and the Bundesliga club are currently trying to convince him to commit to a new deal.

Mkhitaryan, who signed for Dortmund from Shakhtar Donetsk in a £23.5m deal in 2013, is currently considering whether to extend his contract at Dortmund or move to Emirates Stadium in summer. Mkhitaryan is a versatile midfielder and can play across the line behind the striker. He has scored 20 goals for Dortmund in all competitions this season.

Another Bundesliga player Arsenal are interested in is Borussia Monchengladbach defensive midfielder Granit Xhaka. Various reports have strongly linked Arsenal to the 23-year old and now according to German publication Bild, the Gunners have already made a £35m bid for the Swiss International and have offered him £110,000-a-week wages.

Liverpool have also been linked with the player, but it seems like Arsenal will be a more attractive proposition for him as they can offer Champions League football. The Gunners are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window, and midfield signings are high on agenda of manager Arsene Wenger.

The likes of Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky are expected to depart from Arsenal this season as they are out of contract in the summer and are not expected to be offered new deals. These departures will leave spots open in the squad, and Wenger, who has already signed Mohamed Elneny in January, is expected to bring more midfield players to Emirates Stadium in summer.

Arsenal have also been linked with Lorient left-back Raphael Guerreiro, according to latest reports. The Telegraph has reported that the Gunners are interested in the 22-year old, who can play at left-back or left wing.

The arrival of the Portuguese international at Emirates Stadium will signal the departure of Kieran Gibbs, who has been the second choice left-back behind Nacho Monreal for past two seasons. According to the report, the North London club have scouted Guerreiro on numerous occasions, and they are planning to make an offer for the player in the summer.

Liverpool have also been linked with the player, but Wenger shares a good working relationship with Lorient, and this could help the Gunners in acquiring their target.
