Arsenal To Announce MAJOR Transfer Deal Is Done After COPA America

This transfer is the least expected of all deals Arsenal fans were expecting this summer; but the fact that Arsenal are now very close to sealing a deal for Chelsea’s safest pair of gloves, Peter Cech could only mean that one of the club’s goalkeepers will be surplus to requirement at the Emirates.

Yes a deal for Peter Cech is imminent, which is a strong indication to the effect that one of David Ospina (quite unexpected) and Wojciech Szczęsny is set to leave the club either on loan or on a permanent deal. It is pretty obvious that Ospina didn’t do too well as a replacement for Szczęsny last season, and Wenger is not about to sign a goalkeeper of Cech’s calibre as a second fiddle to the Colombian. Given the fact that Szczęsny is regarded as a home-grown player, Wenger may not be disposed to letting him off the club’ which leaves us with only one option—Ospina!

So is Wenger about to sell off a goalkeeper he only signed last summer? That sounds pretty odd considering the Frenchman’s antecedent of giving players more time to prove themselves. Well reports from the Turkish press revealed that the manager is set to offload David Ospina to Turkey, with the deal set to be announced immediately after the Copa America tournament holding in Chile.

I guess we may have to wait to see if this turns out to be true considering Wenger’s previous history when it comes to giving players more time to prove themselves, and of course, the fact that the press in Turkey can be pretty erratic sometimes.
