Arsenal transfer news – Wenger picked Riyad Mahrez, Granit Xhaka and Marquinhos as main summer signings
The Times’s chief football writer Henry Winter has claimed that Leicester City’s influential midfielder could end up at Arsenal in the summer. Winter was speaking at the Arsenal Supporters Trust on Monday when he made this sensational claim.
He also claimed that Riyad Mahrez is also expected to leave the Foxes in the summer. Cante has played a significant role in Leicester’s sensational rise to the top of Premier League table this season.
He joined Leicester from French club Caen for just €8 million in the summer. His performances for his club this season earned him call-up for the national team for the international friendlies last month.
He has averaged 4.6 tackles/game and 4.2 interceptions/game in his 32 league appearances for Leicester this season.
The Gunners have also been strongly linked with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka recently and it seems like Arsene Wenger w ants to add some steel to his midfield in the summer.
Arsenal have been asked to cough up £24million by Juventus to sign their target Simone Zara in the summer transfer window. The 24-year old joined Old Lady for £14m from Seria A club Sassuolo last summer. He has managed only four starts in Serie A and has scored four goals in his 15 league appearances in total.
Serie A clubs AC Milan and AS Roma are reportedly interested in the player. According to Italian publication Tuttosport, the Turin are willing to let go of their player but have slapped a price tag of £24m on him.
The North London club are expected to be in market for a quality striker in the summer transfer window. They have already been linked with a move for another Juventus forward, Alvaro Morata.
In another transfer story, Arsenal are competing with a host of clubs for the signing of unsettled Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos. Goal.com recently reported that the Brazilian defender has already agreed personal terms with Barcelona and only thing left is for Barcelona and PSG to reach an agreement over transfer fee.
However, according to talkSPORT Premier League trio of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd are still hopeful of securing a deal for 21-year old.
Marquinhos, who joined PSG from Serie A club AS Roma three seasons ago, is behind his compatriots David Luiz and Thiago Motta in the pecking order at the club. He has previously stated that he would like a move away from the Ligue 1 champions in the summer.
