Brendan Rodger Confident Of Rebuilding Liverpool

Even with a rotated squad, Brendan Rodgers men were held at Anfield to a 1-1 at the hands of a lower rated Swiss club FC Sion. The game was a Europa League match but without any surprise, Liverpool failed to turn up in the game with an unconvincing performance.

In the match preceding the Europa League draw, Brendan Rodgers men rallied round Tim Sherwood Aston villa to a 3-2 win. With the Merseyside derby in sight, Rodgers chose to rest the likes of Lucas, Sturridge, Milner, Moreno, Coutinho, Skrtel and Sahko  for the Sion Match.

Nonetheless, it was a disappointing night for the teeming supporters of the Reds as they Booed Rodger over Liverpool’s failure to beat an unclassic team – but Rodgers remained confident and positive about rebuilding efforts after the departures of Gerald and the likes.

In the post match conference, he said:

It’s the pressures of a huge club like this,” he was quoted saying to BT Sports in the clip below.

“But I immensely enjoy the job here. It’s a wonderful challenge, in terms of how we’ve been building it over a couple of years.

“It’s a rebuilding job again, and we’ll take it forward hopefully.”

Since the appointed of Rodgers, he has been given free hand and support in the transfer market. He remains one of the most active coaches in the transfer market. Just this season, he added about six players to the rank of Liverpool and it is time for him to begin to justify the amount he’s been spending.
