Chelsea On The VERGE Of COMPLETING The Transfer Of £75,000-A-Week Star

Besiktas are looking to test Chelsea resolve to hold on to Loic Remy by asking the club for a loan move for the striker.

Various sources have claimed Besiktas have reached a deal to sign the French international.

The Turkish side, as per Express, consider Remy as a replacement for former Chelsea striker Demba ba who recently joined Chinese side, Shanghai Shenhua for a fee in the region of £9 million.

The same source also cite the Times who revealed that Remy will join Besiktas on loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Remy, 28, joined Chelsea from QPR last summer but was Jose Mourinho’s third-choice striker behind Diego Costa and the ageing Blues legend, Didier Drogba. As a result, he had limited playing time last season.

With the departure of Drogba, Radamel Falcao has been brought in (on a season-long loan) as a back-up striker for first-choice Diego Costa, and this may well mean an exit from Stamford Bridge for Loic Remy.

Blues boss, Jose Mourinho spoke on ‘rewarding’ the former Newcastle and Marseille hitman with more play time last season when Remy rescued the team on a number of occasions in Costa’s absence as a result of a hamstring injury.

The most notable one is his goal against Manchester City in a 1-1 draw at the Etihad in January which kept the team five points above their opponents in first place.

But now it seems Remy will be switching clubs this summer with Chelsea also in for Atletico Madrid’s winger cum striker, Antoine Griezmann.

With West ham, Crystal Palace and Swansea all showing interests in the France striker, that has not stopped Besiktas from expressing theirs too.

The Istanbul club will no doubt be getting a powerful and pacy goalscorer in their team if they manage to sign Remy.

Loic Remy played 21 times for the Blues last season and score 7 goals, on Chelsea’s way to winning the EPL and League Cup.
