Chelsea Plan January Move For World Class DM, To Compete With Matic

The Blues will be the frontrunners for the signature of Lazio’s defensive midfielder Lucas Biglia when the transfer market re-opens in January 2016, as per Calcio Mercato.

Even after buying four players during the summer transfer window, the Blues will still go back to transfer window of January to bolster their declining squad and save their horrendous season. They are currently 16th on the Premier League log and Mourinho is currently under severe pressure.

Matic and his other defensive midfield teammates have been appalling this season – Matic was brought on a substitute in Chelsea’s defeat against Southampton but he was substituted even after coming on a substitute. Biglia’s arrival may spur Matic up to his last season’s form that won him the DM player of the League for last season.

Biglia, 29, was linked with a move to Manchester United but Louis Van Gaal opted for Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin and obviously needs no other defensive midfielder, leaving Chelsea as the only suitor for Biglia.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will be playing host Aston villa after the international break and they will be hoping to bounce back with a win else it might amount to the termination of Mourinho’s appointment as coach.
