Chelsea To Complete £34m Signing As Roman Abramovich Sanctions Deal

Premier League Champions Chelsea may finally sign Everton defender John Stones after a long period of negotiations. The Everton central defender has been linked to a big money switch to Chelsea for some time now and is believed to be on the verge of signing for Chelsea. The Toffees initially rejected  Chelsea first two bids of 20 and 26 million pounds but are reported to be willing to accept an offer of £34 million.

Reports claim Roman Abramovich has stepped him and has ordered Chelsea deal makers to pay the necessary additional cost to get the young English defender.

John Stones was initially valued at £30 million by Everton, but as things stand Chelsea will have to pay Everton £34 million for the signature of the Everton defender. The 21 year old who is regarded as John Terry’s long term replacement at the club will definitely find it hard to turn down a move to Stamford Bridge.

Earlier this week, Roberto Martinez condemned Chelsea pursuit of John Stones saying that Chelsea’s interest in the 21 year old player is affecting his focus and went on to further rule out a move for John Stones. However despite his comments, it seems Roberto Martinez will be powerless in stopping Everton from selling John Stone if Chelsea table the right bid.

If Everton were to lose John Stones, the Toffees will reportedly make a move for Celtic’s defender Van Dijk who is valued at £7 million. Southampton are said to be the front-runners to land Van Dijk but Everton will definitely be looking to hijack the deal to land the Dutch defender.
