Chelsea To Finally Sign Antoine Griezmann In January, £43m Deal Done

Antoinne Griezmann could eventually become a Chelsea player anytime soon if Chelsea can successfully secure a deal that will involve a Juan Cudrado-swap with the France international during the next transfer windows. Griezmann was a Chelsea Summer transfer target, but nothing materialized. However, with Atletico Madrid coach, Diego Simeone interested in bringing Chelsea player, Cuadrado, who is currently on loan at Juventus to the Vicente Calderon by Summer, the Pensioners might just finally play the swap-cards with the Rojiblancos.

Cuadrado has caught the attention of Diego after putting up great performances for Juventus following his arrival from Chelsea on loan during summer. The Colombia international arrived from Fiorentina to the Stamford bridge in January for £26.8 million Pounds, and couldn’t break into the starting lineup.

His loan at Turin has however been a revival for his seemingly dwindling career while he was with Chelsea. The 27 year-old has been one of Juventus’ best players this season, and an eventual return to the Stamford bridge doesn’t look feasible, as Juve also want to sign him permanently. The Serie A Champions will need him as they hope to get back to winning ways following a poor start to the new season.

Atletico have always had Cuadrado in the transfer books for a while, and his style of play suits the high-pressing game the team is known for. A move to the Vicente Calderon would also see the playmaker link up with compatriot, Jackson Martinez, who arrived from Porto at Summer. He won’t likely come cheap, as Chelsea will have plans to recuperate the price spent on him in January.
