Deal almost done – club sends representatives for high rated attacker

Liverpool have made a move for Red Star Belgrade’s 19 year old midfielder, Marko Grujic. The Serbian player was spotted by Liverpool scouts on Saturday 6th December. The player’s representatives were promptly contacted. This was after Red Stars 7-2 win over Cukaricki.

Grijic scored his team’s first goal of the match in the 15th minute of play. His team currently tops the Serbian Super liga table. The 19 year old has widely impressed this season and also played a key role in Serbia’s U20 world cup winning team.

Liverpool want the deal done before the end of the season, but the young midfielder says he is unlikely to move before the end of the season. “It is certain that I remain here until the end of qualifying for Champions League” said talented player. He also affirmed he had talks with Liverpool: “I had a talk with Liverpool, but I think for myself I have to choose the best environment where I will get the chance to play and work with good coaches in good conditions”.

Chelsea, Inter Milan and AS Roma are believed to be interested in Grujic as well. The 19 year old has scored 5 goals for Red Star Belgrade this Season. Grujic is already fans favorite and regarded as one of the best in his generation. Red Star manager Miodrag Bozovic says that “Grujic is the leader of this team, pulls us forward”. Red Star had the best start to a season ever, thanks to his scintillating performances.
