Arsenal have received a major boost in their race for Dynamo Kiev’s Adrily Yarmolenko after the player’s agent confirmed that the star has rejected a possible move to Barcelona for Premier League.
Yarmolenko was heavily linked with a £23 million move to Premier League with Arsenal and Everton emerging as the lucky clubs to secure his services, but Dynamo Kiev refused to sell the star.
Besides, last summer, Everton tried to bring the Ukraine international and were very much willing to meet his-buy-out-clause. However, Kiev president Ihor Surkis blocked the move despite late attempts from Everton to revive it.
Speaking about the players transfer rumors, Yarmolenko’s agent Vadim Shabily revealed the player has overlooked Barcelona in favor of a move to the Premier League.
“Was there interest on the part of Barcelona?” Yarmolenko’s agent Vadim Shabily is reported to have said.
“There was. Andriy has a desire to play in the Premier League. This draws his championship, he sees himself in it. Everything will depend on the willingness of Yarmolenko.”
The 26-year-old, who played in Kiev’s 3-1 Champions League defeat at Manchester City on Wednesday night, has apparently snubbed a move to Spain after Barcelona revealed their interest to sign him.
