£80,000-A-Week Star To Complete Arsenal Transfer In January, The Fans Will Be Happy

France international, Mathieu Debuchy might be on his way out of the Emirates in search of more regular playing time after losing his position to Hector Bellerin. The 30 year-old right back risk missing the European football games next Summer on his home soil after failing to get a call up to the national team during the break.

And despite having 3 years left on his current contract with the Gunners, a move to the Italian Serie A could be in the books, as both of Juventus and Roma are said to be monitoring his situation and hoping to lure him away from the EPL.

The former Newcastle defender is said to be unhappy with his situation at Arsenal, and Bellerin’s form at the moment will not gift him a chance of returning to the starting lineup anytime soon. The 20 year-old Spaniard is having a good season by all standards.

Debuchy has had his role limited to a Capital One Cup appearance this season, and he was below-par when the team faced Tottenham, an evidence of match rustiness due to lack of playing time. He had plans to leave the Emirates during the Summer transfer when he was left out of the starting lineup prior to the Community Shield finals in August.

Leaving for a Champions League side might be the best option for Mathieu, as Arsenal seem ready to get Carl Jenkinson back from his loan at West Ham. Despite being in his 2nd season of loan, the England international put pen to paper recently as per a new deal with the Gunners, and is seen as a better competitor with Bellerin for the right back position. What could have been a great debut season for Debuchy with Arsenal saw him appear only 14 times due to injuries, and it might be high-time he moved on.

This is one transfer many Arsenal fans will be happy with as Debuchy hasn’t really be a good player for Arsenal ever since he joined from Newcastle. Many Gunners’ worry will be whether Wenger will spend the money realised from the sale of the Frenchman in bringing in another defender as Bellerin alone can’t be relied on.
