GREAT NEWS – Arsenal Open Talks For €24m Italian

English premier league side Arsenal are currently locked in talks with AS Roma concerning the signing of defender Alessio Romagnoli. Romagnoli, 20 spent last season on loan at Sampdoria where he excelled and as a result caught the eye of several club scouts around Europe. The defender is currently valued at €24m and the gunners currently face competition from AC Milan and Chelsea for the youngster’s signature.

Giallorosi sporting director Walter Sabatini is scheduled to fly into London to hold talks with the gunner’s hierarchy concerning Romagnoli signature. Sabatini who has also scheduled talks with Chelsea concerning Mohamed Salah will not accept anything less than the aforementioned fee for Romagnoli signature given the considerable interest in the youngster by top clubs across Europe.

The youngster has reportedly been offered to Chelsea as part of the Salah deal but a straight cash payment by Arsenal will be less complicated and it’s a no brainer for the Romans. It remains to be seen however if the gunners and Sabatini will come to an agreement but it’s safe to say with interest in him, Romagnoli days at Roma are numbered. He would bring youthfulness and Tact to an Arsenal defense that has been accused of conceding soft goals and his Italian upbringing will suggest defending is second nature to him.

But the youngster will face stiff competition for a first team squad with Per Mertasacker, Gabriel Paulista, Laurent Kocheiny and Callum Chambers already fighting for a first team bet. The thought of a future central defensive partnership of Romagnoli, Chambers, Bellerin and Gibbs is surely enough to wet the appetite of gunner’s faithful across the globe.
