”He is the best player for the Gunners” – Arsenal Urged To Sign £50,000-A-Week Powerhouse As Coquelin Replacement

After failing to sign an outfield player during the summer transfer market and having their squad suffering massive injury blow, Arsenal have been tipped to be active in the on-coming transfer market. A recommendation has been made to Arsenal in the defensive midfield position and the player is Southampton’s Victor Wanyama, per Paul Merson.

Arsenal’s anchor man Francis Coquelin is currently battling a knee injury and will be out until next year. Flamini has been standing in for his compatriot but isn’t doing close to what Coquelin is doing. And so Paul Merson has urged to Gunners to sign Wanyama, who he believes will do the job very well.

Merson said following: “I don’t think he is an Arsenal player. I don’t think he is one of them. If they just get him, what he has done recently – because he went off the boil a little bit for me Wanyama, he sort of got into a situation in which he thought ‘I am a bit of a player here’ and started spraying balls here and spraying balls there. “

“If he can get in and you tell him, ‘right, you get the ball, you win the ball back and you give it to players who are superior in what they do but you are better at doing what you do’, for me Wanyama would be one off the top of my head because he is big, he is strong, he ticks the boxes for Arsenal. He is very fit and he gets around the pitch, but he has got to do just that job – win the ball and give it to Ozil, give it to Sanchez, give it to Cazorla – and for me he would tick every single box.”

The Gunners currently have up to 10 first team players nursing various injuries with most of them scheduled to return next year.
