“I Am Going To Manchester United” Pedro Tells Friends, Jose Mourinho Gutted

With reports flying round that Manchester United misfit Angel Di Maria is close to sealing a switch to Paris Saint-Germain, the club need to bring in a capable replacement.

Goal reported that PSG boss Laurent Blanc is upbeat about the Ligue 1 champions’ chances of signing the the erstwhile Real Madrid wide man and that the case is close to completion.

Therefore, the Red Devils need to sign a replacement for the Argentina international star, and have earmarked Barcelona’s Pedro Rodriguez as the ideal candidate. According to a Metro report of yesterday, United will land Pedro for £23.1 million and only few details are missing as the Premier League club close in on their sixth major summer signing.

As per Daily Star, United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has flown back to the UK to finalise the move which will see Louis van Gaal’s team take their summer spending to over £100 million mark.

Chelsea and Liverpool were also thought to be keenly interested in landing the 27-year old speedster but United quickly moved to trigger Pedro’s release clause set at £22 million. The move is now reported to be close and the Spain international will most likely replace Di Maria on the wings.

The player, as per Telegraph, has told friends he fancies joining Man United with his friends Ander Herrera and Juan Mata already at the club.

Pedro used to be an integral member of the Barcelona team but last season, he was used sparingly by Luis Enrique as the fantastic partnership formed by the trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez only limited the Spanish ace to a bench role.

Should he sign, he is likely to be deployed in the right or left wing of an attacking trio featuring Wayne Rooney and Memphis Depay.
