Manager Publicly Confirms a Conversation with Arsene Wenger About Transfer, Announcement Imminent

Recently, he was linked with a move to Serie A club AS Roma, and now Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has publicly claimed that he is interested in the services of his compatriot.

“I had a conversation with Arsene a few days ago about some of the players, and Mathieu Debuchy was among these players,” said Garde, who won the 1997 double with the Gunners under Arsene Wenger.

“It’s too early, and it won’t help me or anyone to go forward in this style to make too many more comments.”

Aston Villa are currently rooted at the bottom of the Premier League table and are favourites to get relegated this season.

Debuchy, on the other hand, is desperate to get some regular playing time ahead of the Euro Cup in the summer.
