Manchester United Makes Officila £57m Bid For Antoine Griezmann, Chelsea To Lose Out

Although Manchester United have made five major signings already this summer, manager Louis van Gaal is still under pressure to make more purchases. United are at the risk of ending the window without addressing their biggest question marks over their squad.

Goalkeeper David De Gea does not want to play for the Red Devils, and is desperate to seal a move to Real Madrid, Angel Di Maria has completed his acrimonious exit from Old Trafford and a top qualify centre-back is yet to arrive the club, despite the Red Devils desperately needing one.

However, United fans would still be hoping their darling team move swiftly to make the needed signings before the transfer window closes in 12 days’ time, as they need to battle for silverware this season.

Having said that, here is the latest on United’s transfer targets:

United make surprise £57m move for Antoine Griezmann – Reports

The Red Devils are looking to give Chelsea a dose of their own medicine by swooping for the Blues’ target Antoine Griezmann, after United lost Pedro to the London club.

Louis van Gaal is desperate to add pace and creativity to his team, and Griezmann has been pinpointed. The France international has a huge £57m release clause but United should be able to afford it, following Di Maria’s £44m sale to PSG.

Red Devils’ double deal for Thomas Muller and Sadio Mane – Report.

Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has been linked to United ever since van Gaal became manager of the Premier League club. The Dutchman is now confident he can prize Muller – who he gave his debut during his spell at the Bundesliga club – away from the Allianz Arena. The Red Devils are reported to have tabled a £60m offer for the 25-year old.

Mane emerged as a surprise target immediately after Chelsea announced Pedro’s transfer, and United’s first bid for the 23-year old was rebuffed by Southampton.

Reports have now suggested United could lodge another £20m for the former Red Bull Salzburg star.

Muller offered lucrative deal to join Man United – reports.

The Germany international will enjoy a hefty rise in wages if he joins the Red Devils. United have cleared Di Maria, Radamel Falcao and Robin Van Persie from their wage books, meaning they can afford top targets and as per Metro, Muller has been offered a mind-blowing £250,000 weekly package to sign for Man United.
