When the January transfer window comes alive in the January of 2016, United will be active in the transfer market for mainly a left back and they will attempt to sign Valencia full-back Jose Luis Gaya, this is according to reports in Spain and Manchester.

Dutch tactician Louis Van Gaal has been on the search for defensive reinforcement following the anticipated long-term absence of Luke Shaw when he sustained a horrendous injury in their Champions League match against PSV.

Luke Shaw will be out until at least next year and United are keen on strengthening their left back position – United are now monitoring Gaya and will attempt to sign him in January, this is according to Fichajes.net.

The 20-year-old Spain international has drawn attraction from Chelsea and Real Madrid following his stellar show-offs for club and Spain cadet team – however, Manchester United are hoping to land the left-back sooner.

The youngster has been with Valencia in his entire football career and the Ciudad Deportiva De Paterna outfit have tagged the player with a £36 million release-clause. It is left to be seen if United will be able to cough out such whopping sum for the lad.

Meanwhile, United will lock horns with Wolfsburg in the Champions League this Wednesday in a must-win encounter for Louis Van Gaal and his men.
