Liverpool have been chasing Mario Gotze for quite some time now and they may be forced to step up the pursuit of the German star if the latest reports are to be believed. Gotze has apparently demanded talks with Bayern officials over a possible return to his former club, Borussia Dortmund, whom he left in 2013.
It looks as though he feels he has unfinished business at Dortmund and the fans were certainly furious that he turned his back on them and moved to arch-rivals, Bayern Munich, presumably for a lot more money. He has played well for Bayern, when given the opportunity although he has been a little inconsistent at times.
German media outlet, Abendzeitung, have circulated the news that Gotze demanded crunch talks with Bayern officials over his future and whether a possible return to Dortmund was plausible.
It might be that he will have to wait until after the Euro’s to get clarity on his future: “Right now, there are no talks. Not with the club and not with Carlo Ancelotti. I don’t have a concrete schedule. I can’t say whether a decision about my future will be made before or after the European Championships.”
