New Twist Griezmann Chase – Chelsea Set To BID €60m For WORLD CLASS Star

The rise and rise of Atletico Madrid to stardom under the tutelage of Diego Simeone has been fantastic, with the club winning the La Liga title and reaching the Champions League final in recent season. This has prompted interest from European heavyweights for some of their top stars. Diego Costa and Arda Turan have since moved on from the Calderon while Antoine Griezmann and Koke are some of Europe’s most sought-after players.

In recent seasons, Chelsea have emerged to be one of the clubs that have shown interest in Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke. An integral member of the Atletico squad, the Spanish international player is one who the La Liga outfit do not want to sell as they also see him as one for the future. Furthermore, the club know his value will not go down anytime soon and as such want to continue enjoying his football, writes Sport Witness.

As per Spanish broadsheet Marca on Friday, several sides have paid court to Koke – who is capable of playing anywhere across the midfield – this summer, but some few clubs have pursued that interest keenly. The newspaper further postulated that the aforementioned clubs have offered bids of up to €60m for the player’s signature this summer.

Marca names Chelsea and Bayern as the two teams that have made offers for Koke, albeit some other sides have too. With Atletico rejecting all approaches and the player intent on staying put at the Vicente Calderon, the Chelsea claim have appeared somewhat surprising.

Perhaps Marca are only using Koke being the subject of an audacious bid by Chelsea as scoop.
