Real Madrid French striker is reportedly heading for the exit door at the Bernabeu if media speculations are to be believed.
The striker had been linked to Manchester United in his Lyon days before he sealed a move to Real Madrid but recent events have him linked to Manchester United again.
Real Madrid are prepared to listen to offers for Karim Benzema according to Metro and Manchester Uited has been reported as the most likely destination for the Frenchman.
Manchester United’s attack has been greatly depleted after the departures of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao and the potential departure of out of favour Mexican forward, Javier “chicharito” Hernandez.
Manchester United are in desperate need for a world class striker to partner captain Wayne Rooney and finish the series of chances created by their talented creative midfielders. His playing style will suit United’s play with his physical frame and ability to link up play. He is also strong enough to hold up the ball and bring his team mates into play and intelligent enough to spread the ball wide before making intelligent runs into the box.
With United desperately in need of a striker, they would be willing to invest a huge sum of money on the striker and the lure of playing in the Premier League should be an incentive enough to sway the striker and cement a move to the English giants.
The onus now falls on Ed Woodward to finalise this deal and ensure that United mount a serious title challenge this season and also look to get into the latter stages of the UEFA Champions Leauge after embarrasingly missing out last season.
