Roberto Martinez Reiterates Desire To Keep John Stones At Goodison Park

Chelsea may have to completely forget about their long term and transfer prime target John Stones as Everton’s manager Roberto Martinez seems unyielding and is insistent that his impressive centre back will not be allowed to leave Goodison Park this season.

The Special One Jose Mourinho, looking displeased with his wobbling defence, had made open his desire to add two defenders to his radar before the start of the season. Apparently the Toffees boss is hell bent on making sure none of Mourinho’s buys will be John Stones.

In what has been tagged the longest transfer saga of the summer, Chelsea has already seen two bids rebuffed for the player but Martinez is sure of keeping the player  even if the Blues returns with a whopping bid for the 21-year-old.

Roberto Martinez believes Stones is one of the best defenders in the world, hence, their desire to keep him and build a team with him.

“We are a big club. What we want is to build and what we want to do is concentrate on the future and we are not a selling club by any means. The situation with John is as you would expect.

“He is one of the most talented centre-backs in European football and we feel we have a special footballer with us. There is nothing to discuss and teams putting bids in for him doesn’t mean anything.

it believed that Stones will hand Martinez a transfer request if Everton remain bullish in keeping him – in a transfer market where so much sum is doled out for players, Everton should cash in on player as Chelsea are willing to make him one of the most expensive defenders in the world.

The tough tackling defender has great potential to succeed and it seems it would take something ‘Special’ for Chelsea to break Everton’s resolve for keeping the player.
