Roman Abramovich sanctions deal for 25 goals in 21 games striker

Chelsea are reported to be interested in the signature of Shakhtar Donetsk Brazilian, Alex Teixeira. The attacker who hit great form this season is reportedly on Chelsea’s radar and a January deal may just be inevitable. Chelsea’s attack this season has been largely shambolic and toothless which has prompted club owner, Roman Abrahmovic to make funds available for January reinforcement.

The chase for the 25-year old has been further buoyed by the exit of Shaktar from the Champions League. The player would certainly smile at a chance to play in the Champions League with a football club of Chelsea’s calibre. The player may likely go the footsteps of former teammates like Douglas Costa, Willian and Luiz Adriano.

Teixeira has revealed Chelsea’s interests and has suggested a possible move to Stamford Bridge “I am glad to hear a club like Chelsea is interested on me, it would be important to play in a tournament such as the Premier League. And better yet if it comes in January, I am welcoming a new challenge”.

The impressive attacker joined Shakhtar from Vasco Da Gama in 2010 and has been overly impeccable. He has done what none of Chelsea attackers have been able to do this season. The Shakhtar man has netted 22goals in just 15matches and follows up the amazing record with 5 assists all just in the league alone. The player has been handed a more advance role this term owing to the departure of Luiz Adriano to AC Milan.

The versatile attacker who can play virtually every offensive position ended last season with an impressive 17 goals in 22 matches. The player would no doubt be a valuable asset to the London side.
