Welcome To Stamford Bridge – Chelsea On The VERGE Of Sign 5ft 10in Bundesliga Star

Reports have emerged from various sources that Premier League Champions, Chelsea have made a bid to secure the services of Ausburg FC of Germany left back, Baba Rahman. Jose Mourinho’s title-winning side have made a bid of a reported £15 million for the Ghanaian.

Baba, 21 in July 2nd, impressed at the Africa Cup of Nations last term, and is also on the wanted list of Italian Champions, Juventus. According to renowned Italian Journalist, Di Marzio on his twitter page, Baba Rahman’s agent, Sascha Empasher, travelled to London to meet with Chelsea who offered £15 million for his client’s services. He concluded that Chelsea are trying to close the deal in time before The Old Lady of Turin.

The Daily Star also claimed that, according to Tuttomercatoweb, Chelsea offered £10 million, but “Bundesliga surprise package Augsburg are said to be holding out for nearer £15 million”.

“If the Blues are offering that kind of cash, there’s little reason to believe they will lose out to Juventus” (SB Nation). This is because, according source, Juventus can not afford the wages despite reaching the UEFA Champions League final in May this year.

If this transfer is done, it may well signal the end of Brazilian left back, Filipe Luis’ (Chelsea’s career) who is rumoured to be unhappy for his lack of playing time with the Blues last season, and may be on his way out to Atletico Madrid, his former club. Baba will definitely be battling for a starting shirt with Spanish international full back, Cezar Azpilicueta, for the left back position which the latter has impressed in under Jose Mourinho.
