Yet Another Injury BLOW For Manchester United

James Wilson is the latest Manchester United player to join the feared injury list. The Red Devils are already without 10 players due to injury and card related offences and with the recent inclusion of 18 year old Wilson, the worst is yet to come. The defence section was the worst hit in the team but it now appears that strikers are beginning to take a cue from their colleagues on the back line. During Manchester United’s under 21s victory at Tottenham Hotspur on Monday evening, Wilson was left hobbling off at half time causing another setback for the manager who has already started to weigh his options as he will also be without the services of team captain, Wayne Rooney.

James Wilson is being tipped as the next big star at Manchester United after rapidly rising through the ranks at Old Trafford and forcing his way into the first team set up. In fact, it was the his goals for the youth squad and also the awesome performances for the senior side in recent monthsthat were reportedly the main reasons why Louis Van Gaal decided to offload Danny Welbeck to Arsenal and sanction Javier Hernandez’s temporary deal to Real Madrid. Wilson has proved in recent months that he is so full of confidence that he isn’t afraid of going on fine solo runs or trying to create chances for others to score.

Although James may not number among the most preferred attackers around Old Trafford, rumours making rounds that Louis Van Gaal has been rejecting several transfer offers for him has shown that the Dutch man already sees him as a rising prospect. Ryan Giggs, Manchester United’s assistant manager has also described James as a natural goal scorer who has got more to his game than what most people think. He feels James is a very clever player whose pace and wit is on the rise. It will be recalled that on James’s first start for Manchester United in the Club’s final home match of last season against Hull City, the teenager struck twice and has since endeared himself to the fans at Old Trafford with many labelling him as Manchester United’s latest academy graduate star. Erstwhile manager, David Moyes had featured Wilson in 3 match day squads before his interim replacement, Giggs handed him his full debut. The youngster got his first few minutes under Van Gaal when he came on in Manchester United’s sickening defeat to the MK Dons.

Despite his limping off on Monday, Wilson still believes that he could make a quick recovery and be cleared fit for the clash against the Toffees on Sunday.
