Man Utd Agree a Mega Deal for Serie A star for €60 million

Man Utd have been chasing Lazio star Felipe Anderson for quite some time now. Earlier today, reports have emerged claiming that Man Utd have secured the signing of the Brazilian attacking midfielder for €60 million.

The report from Italian news outlet Calciomercato claimed that Lazio president Claudio Lotito was overheard, prior to the Serie B game between Salterniata and Crotone claiming that he has sold Anderson to Man Utd.

Lotito was quoted as saying: “Felipe Anderson will move to Manchester United next season, for €60 million. I bought Felipe Anderson for €8 million, and I’ve already sold him on for €60 million.”

However, the Italian has since then quickly moved to deny the rumours and have released an official statement on their website claiming the rumours claiming that Anderson has been sold, are devoid of any foundation.

The statement from the club reads: “In reference to statements attributed to President Claudio Lotito regarding the alleged sale of the player Felipe Anderson, Lazio note that these are devoid of any foundation.”

These contrasting news have surely confused United fans who were celebrating the arrival of the talented midfielder earlier in the day.
The 22-year-old has scored six goals and provided two assists in 24 league appearances for his club this season.
