Theo Walcott leaving Arsenal in a shocking transfer to Manchester?

After Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy, Manchester City now want Theo Walcott from Arsenal. The citizens have shown in interest in the England forward who has scored 98 goals and won 3 trophies in his 403 career games.

His season has been marred by injuries, and he has fallen out of favor at the Emirates stadium. In fact, he last made a start in the premier league on 28/02/2016. He is only 27 years old, and he needs playing time before he can hang his boots.

Pep Guardiola has also been a fan of Theo Walcott, and he may be ready to work with him at the Etihad stadium. In fact, Walcott always played well against Guardiola’s Barcelona, scoring a fine goal in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Barcelona in 2010.

Theo Walcott joined Arsenal from Southampton on Jan 20, 2006. The winger got better with time, but he is yet to reach his full potential.  He was very promising as a young player, but injuries and lack of playing time has contributed to his poor form this season and the previous seasons. His current contract with Arsenal runs till 30.06.2019, but Man City and Liverpool would like to move the player from Arsenal in summer.

Man City are the favorites to sign Walcott, given their appetite for Arsenal players. On top of reasons football, Manchester City also want to sign Walcott to add to the few homegrown players that City have. Manchester City has very few players from England, and in fact, they are also targeting Walcott’s teammate, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for the same reason.
