World Cup Winner On The Verge Of Signing For Liverpool, Flies In For Medical

Nigerian U-20 player Taiwo Awoniyi is on the verge of completing his dream move to Liverpool.  The 17 year old is expected to arrive at Anfield this week to finalise his move with Liverpool. It is understood that according to Nigeria U23 spokesman Timi Ebikagboro the Nigeria is expected to sign his Liverpool contract this week.

He was quoted as telling Africanfootball.com: “He will leave this week for England to sign his contract with Liverpool and that is why he is not here training with us for the All Africa Games.” Liverpool have been the most active Premier League club in this summer window, making additions for the future and the present.

The Merseyside club has made a couple of signings for the academy as well as for the first team in form of players like Joe Gomez and Bobby Adekanye. However 18 year old Joe Gomez who was identified as a signing for the Liverpool academy has already started making waves in the Liverpool first team which shows that any player, no matter how young can be signed to make an impact to the first team and not just an addition to the academy. This could turn out to be the case of 17 year old Taiwo Awoniyi.

It is further understood that Awoniyi’s involvement with Liverpool will cause the 17 year old to miss September’s All Africa Games, where he was expected to feature for the U-23 team.
