Liverpool Beats Man United Another Star, Deal DONE, Will Earn £100,000-A-Week

In its effort to send a strong signal to other clubs against next season, Liverpool have completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder, Firmino.

The deal, which was announced in the early hours of Wednesday morning via the club’s official Twitter account, the management of the club said they “are delighted to announce they have signed Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim, subject to a medical.”

Though, no official figure was quoted by the club’s Twitter handle, it is being reported in the press that Firmino cost the Brendan Rodgers-managed side around £29 million. That figure puts the Brazilian international and Hoffenheim midfielder behind only Andy Carol, who was signed by Liverpool from New Castle United for a record fee of £35 million in 2011.

The deal has already been completed; it now remains to be seen if the Brazilian who scored seven goals and provided ten assists for his Bundesliga side will be able to leave up to the expectations of the fans.

Firmino, according to various media sources, was signed by the club as a possible replacement for Raheem Sterling, who has rejected a new contract offered by Liverpool, and is now seeking to leave the club that brought him to limelight only a few seasons ago.

The Brazilian, who was also linked with a move to Liverpool’s fieriest rivals, Manchester United, is expected to move to the club after the Copa America tournament currently holding in Chile. Though, subject to medical, the deal is all but done as all Liverpool fans will now expect Firmino to live up to the transfer fee paid for his signature by the club.
