Manchester United Fans React As SHOCKING Transfer News Develops
Real Madrid have officially announced the capture of goalkeeper Kiko Casilla from Espanyol, with the player becoming Los Blancos’ first acquisition since the sale of Sami Khedira and Iker Casillas.
The Spaniard will join the 10 times Champions league winner provided he passes a medical. He will reportedly sign a five-year contract with the galaticos. He will be expected to first for a first team place against Keylor Navas and Fernando Pacheco.
This move will, however, come as a surprise to many as the Spanish club have been linked, for a long time, with Man United goalie, David De Gea.
24-year old De Gea also has his heart set on a move to Madrid this summer, having turned down a £200,000 a week package to remain at Old Trafford. This move has so far stalled with latest reports saying the Red Devils will only sell the Spanish shot stopper to Real if they would be getting Sergio Ramos in return.
With only 12 months left in De Gea’s contract, the former Atletico Madrid safe hands will become a free agent should he fail to move this summer, and Madrid are reportedly prepared to wait.
United began their pre-season friendly yesterday with a win against Seattle, but according to Van Gaal, De Gea sat out the match as a result of an injury.
Meanwhile, Manchester United fans have however been reacting on Twitter to the news of the Casilla signing by Los Blancos, as it would likely mean their prized goalkeeper De Gea will be staying.
