Done Deal – POWERFUL 6ft Left Back Completes Manchester United Transfer

Manchester United have had a busy and rather successful transfer windows so far, with important additions to the squad and displacement of unwanted players.

This is now set to continue with reports from various UK media outfits confirming the sale of Reece James to Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee.

The full-back has now left Manchester United to join Sky Bet League 1 side on a permanent basis.

This is as per a Sky Sports report which says James has signed a three-year contract at the DW Stadium, after making just one senior appearance for the Red Devils, in the 4-0 Capital One Cup loss to Milton Keynes Don last August.

The 21-year old has had loan stints at Carlisle, Rothertham and Huddersfield, and has now chosen to continue his career at Wigan, becoming the ninth player to sign a permanent deal with the Latics this summer.

Confirming the move, Wigan manager, Gary Caldwell speaks of James to the club’s official website: “Reece is a young player with a bright future.

“He has been schooled by one of the best academies around and has impressed both at Under-21 level and whilst on loan.

“He is another who will strengthen competition on that left side, and has played as a full-back, or in a wing-back role. Once again, there was clubs after him so we’re delighted to add him to the squad.”

Manchester United are looking to recruit world-class and experienced defenders as the club hunt for glory – which has eluded them for the past two seasons – next term.

Sergio Ramos and Nicolas Otamendi are the Red Devils’ known defensive targets but so far, talks have stalled for the former while United will face stiff competition for their “noisy neighbours” Manchester City for the latter’s signature, reports suggests.
