Arsenal Set To Sign WORLD Class Juve And Chelsea Target, Can Play False 9

Reports in Italy are saying Arsenal are now leading Serie A giants Juventus for the transfer of Schalke’s attacking midfielder Julian Draxler after the north London club submitted a £21.1m offer to Schalke for the player’s signature.

Draxler, 21, has been on Arsenal’s radar for years and the Gunners are reportedly keen to sign him this time around, despite stiff competition by Juventus. Reports claim the Turin-based club have agreed a fee to sign the 21-year old few weeks ago, but the move has fell through following the inability of both clubs to settle on a transfer fee.

Arsenal will now pay Schalke £17.6m in cash with a further £3m in bonuses to follow, according to the reports from Italy. Because what the Gunners are offering is higher than that of Juventus, the Premier League club have been put in pole position to sign Draxler – who won the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Joachim Low’s Germany. However, Schalke are in no rush to sell, as they believe they could even get up to £30m for Draxler, given the inflation in the prices of players in the transfer market.

The 21-year old attacking midfielder is capable of playing as a lone striker, on either wings or in the hole behind the striker. Great addition for Arsene Wenger’s team if they manage to pull off the deal.

Meanwhile, the Gunners’ move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is still on, and although former Los Blancos midfielder Kaka believes Arsenal would find it difficult luring the player away from the Bernabeu, he would be a “very, very good” addition to the squad.
